Welcome to Becoming Hair Studio. I'm Susann, AKA “Boss Lady”, originally from Sydney, Australia and after 5 more countries and moves, I call Aurora/Newmarket my home.

As a mom of two University Students (both girls) and a 5 year old Cockapoo - Cooper, I know the importance of work/life balance and the empty nester sadness. I also understand the importance of delivering the best of me for our clients, salon team and my family.

You won’t find me behind the chair as an owner. I decided early into ownership/leadership that I wanted to be there 100% for the amazing clients of Becoming Hair Studio and my salon team - I want to see them shine and support their own professional journey. I absolutely love the connection I make with our clients and watching my amazing salon team work their magic on each clients hair journeys. Don't get me wrong, I love all things hair and I love to support our team and you will still see me assisting with hair washes and rocking an amazing blow dry. Yes, you can call me an assistant. Lol.

When I'm not at the salon you will find me at home with my pup, either binge watching anything reality TV or continuing my education as a leader in this ever evolving industry. I'm obsessed with both. Yes, I’m an educational geek.

As a side note - I love change and the challenge it brings. I redecorate or renovate in times of stress as our clients and my kids see every time they walk into the salon or our home. Lol.

I don't think you will meet an owner who is so incredibly proud and supportive of their team and salon as you will in me. I see them as my extended family and treat them as such.

Hi, I'm Denise, lead Master stylist at Becoming Hair Studio.

I would love the opportunity to welcome you to my chair, where I bring with me almost 40 years experience in the beauty industry.

I'm a precision cutter and colour expert, specializing in all the latest techniques and trends. But before we start our hair journey together, I would like the opportunity to tell you a bit about who I am, both behind and beyond the chair, to help you decide if I'm the stylist for you!

I began my career in 1984 and it has been a fantastic ride, full of wonderful experiences! I've had the privilege to work with some incredible artists, I've been mentored by amazing masters of the industry, as well as having the honour of mentoring young, fresh talent and watch them achieve their goals🙂. But my most valuable and satisfying win, is the one that we achieve together when you sit in my chair. That's where the heart and soul of my craft lives!

When you are in my chair, my total focus is on you and my main goal during out consultation is to LISTEN!. That is the first step in helping me meet all of your hair needs. Together we will decide on a very personalized hair plan that suits your hair, your lifestyle and your personal image. I promise the transformation will be amazing!

Who am I besides a hairstylist? I'm a mom, a wife, a daughter, a sister and a friend. I'm sensitive, intuitive and an empath, mixed in with a bit of over thinking! I enjoy fashion, anything vintage, French, shiny or blingy - the 60s is my favourite Era and my biggest fashion influencer.

My artistic flare serves me well in my life outside the salon where I apply my love for colour and makeovers to antique and vintage furniture that I transform into unique accents that decorate my home.

Which brings me back to hair....I live it, I love it and I do it well because I love it!

Hello, my name is Grace Ann Harvey - Senior Master Stylist. I started my career over 35 years ago in Toronto and am now loving working with the amazing team at Becoming Hair Studio in Aurora.

I am a mother of two adult sons (man children - lol), a labrador named Ben (aka Benny Bum Bum) and a wife to my third man child.

I have worn many hats over my 35+ years behind the chair including educating for L’Oreal and salon owners as well as a manager but my love lies behind the chair with my clients. My #1 goal behind the chair with each of my guests is to help them prioritize self - care and to help them reach their full hair potential. I have been told that I am a great listener and pride myself with offering in-depth consultations to ensure that each of my clients enjoy their hair journey with me.

Im a huge advocate for continuous education. #neverstoplearning is my personal mission statement. Education keeps me inspired and motivated by new trends and techniques as well as staying connected with my piers all over the world.

My Becoming Hair Studio family has nicknamed me “Nonna” for my love of caring for others and cooking. I absolutely love cooking, creating new recipes and the experiences new restaurants deliver. Jamie Oliver is one of my favourites. I also dabble in painting and sculpting, being inspired by Monets passion for colour and the shapes, lines and angles of Architecture. All of my interests contribute to the artist I am behind the chair.

I’m Caroline. Intermediate stylist at Becoming Hair Studio.

I’m originally from Los Angeles…I know, I know…I followed a Canadian boy from the Sunshine ☀️ State.

I’m a mother of two and our home is constantly filled with tufts of hair from our cat Jude & our broken-eared bunny 🐰 Binky.

Our consultation will start with a brief hair history. The highs and lows! Fears and goals! Anything is possible when we build a foundation of trust and communication.

I thrive on picking the perfect colour & cut for your lifestyle and daily routine. Its important to understand your comfort zone in all aspects of your hair journey and I promise to keep it anything but boring!

Welcome ! My name is Louie Figliuzzi, a senior stylist at Becoming Hair Studio. I have been serving the Aurora & Unionville area for over 30 years.

Hair is my game where you will have nothing to gain but a beautiful mane. Precision cuts - especially the intricate lines and angles of short styles are my speciality and passion.

When I am not creating gorgeous locks behind the chair, you can catch me working on my golf game (working on is the key phrase here - lol) and playing hockey.

You can also find me, in the warmer months, landscaping in my backyard - my true oasis. I love taking something plain and boring, elevate it to look prestige and elegant - just as you see me do behind the chair.

I pride myself in my consultations. I love getting to know my clients style, face shape, hair texture and lifestyle and we work together in creating incredible hair.

Hi! I’m Maria — a hairstylist with over 15 years of experience and proud to call Becoming Hair Studio my home. I grew up in Aurora and began my career here, which makes it even more special now that I live in Barrie. I’m a wife and mom to two girls. On weekends, you’ll usually find me trying to keep up with my daughters, relaxing when I can, or snacking in bed while binge-watching horror movies . If there’s one thing to know about me, it’s that Halloween is my absolute favorite time of year — you could definitely call me a Spooky Mama ✌🏼 Behind the chair, I love creating special event hair, including updos and styling such as braids, curls, and effortless beach waves. Low-maintenance hair has become my niche, and I’m always learning everything I can to help my clients achieve looks that fit their lifestyle. Heyyy🤗 my name is Marcia. I'm a licensed intermediate stylist at Becoming Hair Studio. I'm originally from Toronto, born and raised, but moved up north after having my son 7 years ago. I've been in the industry for 12 years now. I specialize in color, blonding, & extensions (tape ins, wefts & k-tips) My absolute favorite thing to do would be color corrections! Yes, I know out of all the things to love it's that loll, but it sparks my creative side! Hi, I’m Daniela — an Intermediate Stylist at Becoming Hair Studio 🤍 What started as a love for hair has turned into something so much bigger for me. Behind the chair is where I truly feel at home — getting to know you, laughing together, and watching your confidence with your hair grow throughout your appointment is honestly my favourite part of what I do. Over time my biggest passion behind the chair has become hair extensions. I love the transformations they create — whether it’s adding length, fullness, or completely elevating someone’s look. There’s something so special about seeing a client look in the mirror and instantly feel more confident and excited about their hair. Being able to create those kinds of transformations and help people feel like the best version of themselves is what makes this part of my job so rewarding. When I’m not in the salon, I’m usually out and about — travelling, spending time with my family, trying new restaurants, or doing something fun on the weekend (puppy yoga is a current favourite). I bring that same energy into my chair: relaxed, fun, and welcoming. I want every appointment to feel like you’re hanging out with a friend who just happens to make your hair look amazing. Hey, I’m Noella — a colour-obsessed hairstylist with 10+ years behind the chair and a career that basically started by accident in my high-school co-op. I walked into a salon one day and… never really left. Turns out, it’s exactly where I’m meant to be. Colour is my thing. Vivids that pop, soft lived-in blends, bright blondes, grey blending — if it involves creativity, dimension, and that satisfying “wow, that’s my hair?” moment, I’m all in. I love creating customized looks that make people feel like the absolute best version of themselves. Off-duty, you’ll find me with my boyfriend and our two cats, Lylla and Loki — professional troublemakers and emotional support gremlins. I’m usually watching movies, bingeing true crime, or escaping up north to my cottage where going from a hot sauna to a freezing lake is my unofficial personality trait. I’m also a travel lover, a serial rewatcher of Dexter and Grey’s Anatomy, and always planning my next adventure.

Hi there, I’m Marissa! I am an apprentice with a passion for hair. I’ve lived in Aurora all of my life but I am a city girl at heart. Ever since I was a kid, I’ve been fascinated by hair and makeup, knowing that I would be in the industry early on in life. My family is very dear to me and my mom has been my biggest supporter since day one. I’m a graduate from Canadian Beauty College and I know that joining the Becoming Hair Studio family as an apprentice is the perfect path for me! I’m particularly interested in specializing in blondes, haircuts and hair extensions but I’m always eager to learn new things along the way! When I’m behind the chair, my goal is to empower my clients to look beautiful and feel like the best version of themselves! I’m here for YOU-to be the person you can trust, relax with and collaborate on a plan to make you look and feel your best. Hey there! I’m Riley, I am from Sault Ste. Marie and just recently moved to the GTA. I recently graduated from the Hairstyling program at St. Lawrence College in Kingston and a newfound home as an apprentice at Becoming Hair Studio, I’m here to continue my education and work alongside some of the best stylist in the area. When I'm not busy turning your hair dreams into a reality, you’ll find me with my Bernese Mountain dog puppy, Rory—a giant fluff ball who’s basically a walking teddy bear. Hi !! My name is Jessy, one of Becoming Hair Studio’s salon coordinators. I am originally from Halifax, Nova Scotia and have called Aurora home for over 15 years. Where does the time go?

I started with Becoming Hair Studio after 11 years owing my own business working closely with realtors to ensure your home was buyer ready. Attention to detail is my middle name or as the Becoming Family jokes - OCD is my middle name. Lol. It's true - I own it !!!

Excellent customer service runs through my blood. I may not be the person working on your hair; but, I make sure all aspects of your appointment run smoothly and you feel as good as you look. I am also obsessed with the salon being spick and span for all of our guests. It's not unusual to see me crawling on the floor cleaning the base boards or standing on ladders wiping down the ceiling. Did I say I was obsessed? Lol.

When I am not at the salon, I love spending time at the cottage with my family and friends and decorating/redecorating my home (boss lady and I get along very well - he he).

Can't wait to chat on the phone with you or see you at the salon - back to cleaning I go :)

Hi, I’m Britt! I’m one of the Salon Coordinators here at Becoming Hair Studio, and I truly love welcoming both familiar and new faces into the space. Connecting with people is one of my favorite parts of the job, and I look forward to getting to know each of you. I’ve been happily settled in Aurora for the past few years after moving from North York. I absolutely adore the community here – it’s a place I’m proud to call home. Whether you need help with scheduling, have questions, or just feel like having a chat, I’m always here for you. You’ll often hear my voice on the phone, and when you visit in person, I’ll be there to make sure your experience is smooth, enjoyable, and welcoming.
